From the bustling, unpredictable streets of Spain, through the tranquil beauty of Germany, to the emotional landscapes of Serbia, this memoir captures the wonder, joy, and transformative impact of falling in love, experiencing pain, and trauma, all through the lens of travel. As an empty nester facing a new chapter, LJ Louis breaks free from convention, exploring Europe with open curiosity and heartfelt passion.

Every page offers a glimpse into stunning art, unforgettable adventures, delightful evenings with local wines, and vivid encounters with remarkable people. At the end of the day, Maps of Meetings: Europe is a collection of love stories; it is your invitation to adventure and self-discovery: a reminder to live with purpose, let wonder guide you, and create a legacy of memories that will last lifetimes.

Maps of Meetings: Europe by LJ Louis is a sweeping journey across the continent, told in the intimate language of memory and discovery. Each page unfolds like a carefully marked map, capturing not only the cities and landmarks visited but the emotional landscapes navigated along the way. From sun-dappled parks in Serbia where exhaustion and anxious anticipation intermingle, to bustling market squares echoing with the laughter and murmurs of strangers-turned-acquaintances, the book transforms geography into experience.
Vivid recollections of local treats—savory and sweet—ground the narrative in taste and texture, while candid reflections reveal the triumphs and trials of travel: missed connections, moments of vulnerability, and the fierce courage to keep going. Through journal-like entries, the reader is invited to trace the author’s footsteps over 365 days, feeling both the weight of solitude and the spark of serendipitous meetings.
This is not just a chronicle of places, but a living atlas of human connection, resilience, and hope—where every meeting leaves its mark on the map. Maps of Meetings: Europe is perfect for anyone longing to wander, wonder, and remember the power of every crossroad along the way.

About LJ Louis
LJ Louis was conditioned to become a lawyer but quickly realized she wasn’t cut out for the soul-crushing life of one. She chose instead a life of peace, creativity, and freedom as a writer, foodie, and traveller over a life of financial security and misery. The only truly serious thing about her is that she’s a women’s advocate with a double major in psychology and criminology, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons LLB), and an advanced diploma in fitness and health promotion. She writes and creates content about human sexuality, health, psychology, public policies that affect us all, and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex (formerly Meghan Markle). Her time is split between England, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Canada. You can find her in any of these countries, writing the Mystic Sexual Society Series and promoting Maps of Meeting: Europe.
